General Information

The University of Warwick is a world-class campus university, renowned for its excellent teaching and groundbreaking research. Our campus in the centre of England welcomes over 27,000 students from over 150 countries. We’re a constant presence in the rankings of the UK’s and the world’s greatest universities, with 92% of our research rated world-leading or internationally excellent by the 2021 Research Excellence Framework, meaning students will learn alongside academics at the cusp of new thinking. Warwick has a reputation for being the most enterprising and innovative university in the United Kingdom, with particularly strong links to business and industry, we are in the top six most targeted institutions nationally by the UK’s top 100 employers (The Graduate Market in 2022, High Fliers Research Ltd).

However, we are so much more than our rankings. We provide a platform for the curious; we inspire, we excite, and we invigorate. Our students are our priority and at Warwick, they are challenged, supported, and guided by some of the world's finest minds.  Warwick is an excellent place to connect with an international network of like-minded people. We are committed to research that is internationally leading, impactful, and provocative. It will change the world, making our lives healthier, safe, more resilient, more just, and more fulfilled.

Warwick is committed to bringing world-class research into the classroom. This means we attract professors at the forefront of their fields, aiming to give our students fresh insights and approaches to learning. An example of this is our global research priorities. These respond to complex global challenges in areas such as cyber security, food, and energy by using interdisciplinary thinking to develop real-world solutions.
Warwick also looks to bring a commercial sensibility into much of our teaching, helping our students to prepare for opportunities after their studies have been completed.

All of this means you’ll be welcomed to a supportive, energetic campus community where you can stretch yourself personally, professionally and academically.

Life in

Warwick’s campus is home to students and staff from all over the world. Safe, inclusive and cosmopolitan, it offers everything you could need close at hand, including shops, banks, bars, cafés, restaurants, health and worship facilities.

The Sports and Wellness hub boasts a 12-lane 25m swimming pool, modern 230 station gym, indoor climbing and bouldering centre, flexible studio spaces, squash courts, outdoor sports pitches and a sports therapy clinic.

The Warwick Arts Centre hosts many arts and cultural activities run professionally and by students. Renovations in 2020 have resulted in a new art gallery, three new cinema screens, two theatres, a studio and restaurant.

Warwick’s campus is located in Coventry, which is the base for many of our students living off campus. Coventry is a city of contradictions, with modern high street shops, restaurants, nightclubs and bars, within a five minute walk of medieval monuments. Coventry railway station offers major connections across the UK: it takes just 20 minutes to travel to Birmingham (the second largest city in the UK), an exciting, ever-changing place with something for everyone; and an hour to reach London’s amazing attractions.

Many students also live in nearby Leamington Spa, which is just a bus ride away. It’s smaller than Coventry but still lively with plenty of bars, cafés and shops to explore. And for culture, history and heritage, step back in time at nearby Warwick Castle, Kenilworth Castle and Stratford-upon Avon, Shakespeare's birthplace and home to the world-famous Royal Shakespeare Company.
