Nathaniel Trost is a graduate of the University of Alabama, where he earned degrees in sculpture and musical composition. He plays with both sound and objects to create socially and politically engaged art around human/environmental interactions. Nathaniel is interested in processes — from the geological movements of the earth to industrial mining — that create the places and roles in which we live. He will pursue an MFA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths UoL focusing on coal mining to tell stories about the slow death of the coal industry and the lives and places impacted by this material.
