Shruthi Rajasekar

Shruthi Rajasekar is from Plymouth, Minnesota and will graduate from Princeton University with a degree in Music and minors in Vocal Performance and Cognitive Science. Her undergraduate independent work and compositions for professional ensembles draw from her dual musical background in the Carnatic (South Indian classical) and Western classical traditions. Recent performances of her pieces include a premiere at the American Choral Directors Association of Minnesota’s 2017 convention and a feature on Minnesota Public Radio’s Regional Spotlight. As a Marshall Scholar, Shruthi plans to study opera composition at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and ethnomusicology at SOAS, University of London.
