Colton graduated as class valedictorian at North Carolina State University while studying computer science and entrepreneurship. His research leverages ethical artificial intelligence to individualize classroom learning. He taught two courses at NC State, received a distinguished paper award at ICSE 2020, and currently works at Pendo, a billion-dollar startup. As a Marshall Scholar, Colton will study Cognitive Science at the University of Edinburgh and Education and Technology at University College London, with the goal of pursuing EdTech research (and lots of teaching!) as a future professor. In his free time, he is a professional inline hockey player and competitive speedcuber.
