DR BEN HEINEIKE
Ben Heineike is a former Marshall Scholar, currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in Markus Ralser’s lab at Oxford University and the Charité Universitätsmedizin in Berlin and Jürg Bähler’s Lab at University College London studying the evolution of metabolism, and metabolic cooperation in yeast. He received his PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of California San Francisco where he worked on evolution of the yeast environmental stress response in the lab of Hana El-Samad. Prior to becoming a scientist, he was an Officer in the US Navy officer who served on minesweepers, a newly commissioned destroyer, and as a mathematics instructor at the United States Naval Academy. Ben has served on the Marshall Scholar Selection committee for the San Francisco region and has volunteered as a regional events coordinator for the Association of Marshall Scholars in the San Francisco region and the London region.
