Kyra Jasper
Kyra Jasper, from Cary, North Carolina, is studying History with a minor in Human Rights from Stanford University. She founded the Stanford Southeast Asia Forum, one of the first undergraduate-led organizations focused on studying and facilitating collaboration between U.S. universities and the region in the United States. Kyra is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, which she learned through participating on a Boren Scholarship in 2020 and a Critical Language Scholarship in 2021. She is currently trial monitoring a case of alleged gross human rights violations that occurred in Paniai, Papua in Indonesia’s Human Rights Court in Makassar, Indonesia, while working as a junior Researcher at the Indonesian Institute for an Independent Judiciary. Kyra will pursue an MA degree in International Law at SOAS, University of London and hopes to pursue an MSc degree in International and Asian History at the London School of Economics and Political Science as a Marshall Scholar.
