Havana graduated from University of Washington where she was named the 2017 Mary Gates Research Scholar for her thesis on impact of video recorded police violence on black male college students. In addition, she was awarded the 2017 Bonderman Travel Fellow and spent first 8 months of 2018 traveling solo across 3 continents and 9 countries. As a Marshall Scholar, she plans to study Inequalities and Social Science at the London School of Economics and Evidence Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation at Oxford.
