Emily Steffke

Emily Steffke graduated from Michigan State University where she studied Neuroscience and English, and minored in Music on piano. A Goldwater Scholar, she has researched the neurobiological basis of stress-induced cognitive dysfunction, as well as how cancer cells escape immune detection. While at MSU, Emily was a student-athlete on the Women’s Cross Country and Track teams and the Co-Founder of Reach Outside, a student-run nonprofit dedicated to providing outdoor recreation opportunities for youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. Emily will pursue a D.Phil. in Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford, with the long-term goal of developing immunotherapies to treat brain cancer.
