Dakota Foster

Amherst College
Dakota Foster, from Brunswick, Maine, graduated from Amherst College in 2018 as a double major in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies. At Amherst, Dakota co-captained the Women's Lacrosse Team and served as the co-President of the Amherst Political Union. Her senior thesis examined the nexus of terrorism and religion in the Middle East. Dakota received an MA in War Studies from King's College London in 2019, writing a thesis on defense-relevant technology innovation and the Washington-Silicon Valley relationship. She is spending her second year of the Marshall at Oxford in the Global Governance and Diplomacy Program. Dakota works as a visiting researcher at the Center for Security and Emerging Technology and as a fellow on a 2020 Presidential Campaign. A Truman Scholar, she intends on working for the U.S. government on national security policy. She enjoys running and, as a Mainer, loves spending time outdoors. Dakota is also a die-hard New England sports fan.
