Chimene Ntakarutimana graduated from the University of Kentucky with two BAs in Psychology and Sociology before jumping into the nonprofit sector to gain practical experience. As the administrative coordinator for Kentucky Refugee Ministries, she has been able to see the refugee resettlement process first-hand. Chimene is passionate about mental health advocacy for refugee populations. Her family and Burundian culture heavily influence the way she sees the world and her appreciation for advocacy work. As a Marshall Scholar, Chimene will be pursuing an MSc in Global Migration from University College London and a second degree in Gender, Society and Representation.
