John Lin (Boston, MA) is a senior at Harvard University where he studies Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology with a minor in Global Health and Health Policy.

Motivated by his family's personal challenges with healthcare, he is working to develop accessible therapeutics for underserved and understudied patients. At the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, he integrates experimental and computational approaches to study misfolded protein trafficking in rare kidney disease. He is nationally recognized as an Amgen Scholar and Goldwater Scholar for his research, which has resulted in multiple first-author posters at national and international conferences. He volunteers one-on-one with patients at the Boston Children's Hospital and directs the Harvard Global Health Institute's Student Advisory Committee where he created the first Global Health Winter session to expose students to different pathways in global health. He also serves as a Magazine Executive for the Harvard Crimson and has published stories ranging from interviewing a Nobel Laureate to leading an investigation into disability advocacy on campus. In his free time, John enjoys cooking new recipes with friends, playing Ultimate Frisbee, and training for his first triathlon. Bridging clinical care, basic science and storytelling, he will pursue a career as a physician scientist envisioning a future where all patients can access effective treatments and lead dignified lives.
