Eric Gottlieb, from Menlo Park, California, is a senior at Brown University studying history, applied mathematics, and Egyptology. For his historical research, he has been awarded Brown’s Cogut Fellowship, junior Phi Beta Kappa, and the Brown Undergraduate Prize for Excellence in Library Research. He has also worked extensively in housing policy, with positions at the Bipartisan Policy Center, HousingWorks RI, and the RI Public Expenditure Council (RIPEC). His independent housing research has been facilitated by Brown’s Stone Inequality Initiative, the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress’ Presidential Fellowship, as well as Yale Law School’s Liman Public Interest Fellowship. Outside of those areas of interest, Eric volunteers at the Washington Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs. He enjoys translating texts written in Coptic, Middle Egyptian, Biblical Hebrew, and Nahuatl.

As a Marshall Scholar, Eric plans to pursue an MA in History and an MSc in Social Science Research Methods (Social-Legal) (Law) at Cardiff University.
