Kennedy Crowder studies English, Japanese, and American Sign Language and Deaf Culture at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Dean Scholar, Course-Embedded Writing Fellow at the Marks Family Center for Excellence in Writing, a Robeson Cooper Scholar, and the inaugural recipient of the Penn English Department Community Award for founding the collective Black Penn English. She is also a proud member of Onyx Senior Honor Society and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. With the Marshall Scholarship, Kennedy hopes to pursue her research interest in Black literature, reading for the MA in Black Humanities at the University of Bristol.
