Dr Rose Szabady
Rose received her B.S. in Microbiology and Psychology from the University of Florida and worked as a postbaccalaureate fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Washington, D.C. for two years before studying bacterial pathogenesis in the Microbiology Doctoral Training Program at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Her Ph.D. thesis focused on a secreted glycoprotease of E. coli O157:H7 and its interaction with the host immune system. As a Sherfield fellow, Rose will conduct postdoctoral research in gut immunobiology in the lab of Fiona Powrie at the University of Oxford, with the eventual goal of heading her own lab studying intestinal pathogens from both the human and bacterial perspectives. Rose loves travelling and is very excited to explore the English and European countryside and the British music scene.
