Erika is currently finishing her PhD in Neuroscience at Georgetown University and the National Institutes of Health. Her thesis research uses novel MRI methods to study brain tissue microstructure during adolescent development. In particular, Erika isĀ fascinated with how biophysical properties of the brain contribute to the exquisite detail seen in MR images. As a Marshall Sherfield Fellow, Erika will continue her work on neuroimaging applications in Professor Derek Jones's group at the Cardiff University Brain Research Imaging Centre. Outside the lab, Erika enjoys scientific outreach through social media and edits the blogĀ Magnetic Resonance in Medicine Highlights.
