Marshall Sherfield Fellow Adam Giangreco graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004 with a degree in Cell Biology and Molecular Physiology. His studies in Barry R. Stripp's laboratory caused him to become interested in defining how the relationship between stem cells and their environment can influence the outcome of diseases such as cancer. As a postdoctoral fellow in Fiona Watt's laboratory at Cancer Research-UK, Adam will be studying the influence of the local microenvironment in the determination of skin stem cell fates. An avid nature enthusiast, Adam looks forward to exploring Britain and Europe's great outdoors as often as possible.
