Sarah Cobau is currently serving in the Peace Corps as a Forestry and Environmental Change Agent in northern Senegal. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland with a dual degree in History and PPE (Politics, Philosophy, and Economics), where she wrote an undergraduate thesis that examined a new religious movement as a manifestation of late 19th-century American cultural trends. On campus, she led initiatives focused on accessibility, sustainability, and gender-based violence. Sarah has done conservation work in Alaska, New Hampshire, and California, and thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. As a Marshall Scholar, she will pursue an MSc in Environment and Development at the University of Edinburgh and an MA in History at University College London. She hopes to work in international climate law and policy.
