Addison Miller (Birmingham, AL) is a Witt Fellow and Blount Scholar at the University of Alabama, majoring in International and Comparative Education with a minor in Chinese. She is a Critical Language Scholar for Chinese and a Phi Beta Kappa Key into Public Service Scholar. Addison is a devoted advocate for educational equity and the founder and director of Rising Writers, a program that partners with local Title I schools to prepare their students for college. She researches education innovation and internationalization and publishes primarily on the role of generative AI in improving access to Chinese language learning in the Deep South, earning recognition from the National Heritage Language Resource Center. Addison intends to work in higher education, facilitating person-to-person diplomacy and academic collaboration through building international relationships between universities. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading fantasy, and learning languages.

As a Marshall Scholar, she intends to study an MSc in Politics and International Relations with a focus on East Asia at the School of Oriental and African Studies and an MA in Higher Education Studies at University College London.
