GOLDSMITHS MARSHALL SCHOLARSHIPS

This Scholarship is for Graduate Study in any subject at either Masters or Doctoral level at Goldsmiths, University of London and will be for up to two years (with a possibility of a third year for doctoral studies). If awarded a Goldsmiths Marshall Scholarship candidates would be expected to study at the Goldsmiths, University of London.

General Information 

Goldsmiths, University of London is one of the UK’s top specialist universities for the creative arts and social sciences. Founded in 1891 and part of the prestigious University of London since 1904, Goldsmiths combines historic architecture and traditional ties to the neighbourhood with cutting edge research (in the UK’s top 25 for the quality of our research according to the REF 2014) and facilities for students across a wide range of subject areas. Goldsmiths is committed to being a world leader in the arts and as such has recently made significant investment in this area on campus – renovating the George Wood theatre in summer 2018 at a cost of £2.9 million to provide a contemporary theatre to seat 200 people, as well as two new studio spaces for creative practice. The Goldsmiths Centre for Contemporary Art, opened in summer 2018 is London’s newest contemporary arts institution, bringing world-class exhibitions by international artists, and providing a space for established and emergent practices to South East London.

New Cross and its surrounding neighbourhoods is a vibrant, multicultural and culturally rich area of London. There are plenty of independent bars, cafes, restaurants, art galleries, community-led cinemas and theatres to mean you wouldn't need to leave the area if you don't want to. However, our excellent transport links means we are also only minutes away from some of the world’s best galleries, museums, concert spaces and theatres in central London.
New Cross is only 15 minutes from Shoreditch, Hoxton and Haggerston in East London - arguably some of London's coolest addresses, as well as Old Street – the start-up and SME hub of the capital and a world leader in creative industries. Westminster, the home of British politics is only a short tube ride away, London is home to the UK’s leading media and advertising houses, as well as multiple NGOs and international charities.
