Joshua Slaughter is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) with a degree in computer engineering. Joshua received a Goldwater Scholarship for his machine learning and personalized medicine research conducted at UMBC, Princeton University, and Carnegie Mellon University. While at UMBC, Joshua became the President of the National Society of Black Engineers, Vice President of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and the Secretary of Tau Beta Pi. As a Marshall Scholar, Joshua plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on machine learning for personalized medicine.
