Rebecca Panovka, from New York City, will graduate from Harvard in 2016 with a joint degree in English and Philosophy. Rebecca has served as editor of the Harvard Book Review and The Harvard Advocate’s 150th Anniversary Anthology. She has interned for The Paris Review, Radio Open Source, Indelible Media, and Firelight Films. She researched the politics of forgetting for Lewis Hyde and African American folktales for Maria Tatar—work for which she received the American Folklore Society’s 2015 Zora Neale Hurston Prize. She is currently writing a senior thesis and editing a documentary she filmed in South Africa as one of Harvard’s 2015 Artist Development Fellows.
