Nataliya is a Mathematics and Computer Science double major (and Linguistics minor) at the University of Maryland (UMD). She has explored the intersection of computation and language by conducting research with UMD’s Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security, interning at the Foreign Service Institute of the Department of State, and studying Korean through the Critical Language Scholarship. She hopes to work in the field of Natural Language Processing, focusing on automated misinformation detection. As a Marshall Scholar, Nataliya plans on pursuing a MSc in Speech and Language Processing at the University of Edinburgh.
