Manuel received a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics and Archaeology from Harvard University. Since 2016, Manuel has undertaken research and published independent studies on ‘Khipus’, knotted cord devices used in the Inca Empire to encode and linguistic information. His work in this area has has earned him several research grants and speaking opportunities at international conferences, while his research has been featured on NPR, Boston Globe, the New Harvard as well as a number of other local and international publications. He is a winner of the Detur Book Prize and has earned the designation as a ‘John Harvard Scholar’ in recognition of his academic achievements. Manuel will pursue a PhD in Social Anthropology at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
