Kevin Zhou was born in Tianjin, China and raised in New Jersey; at MIT, he is currently studying physics and mathematics. With Jeremy England, he applied results from non-equilibrium thermodynamics to biological systems. With Jesse Thale, he is investigating new theoretical tools for analyzing high-energy particle collisions. He is particularly interested in physics teaching and outreach, designing and teaching classes for both high school and college students, and he coaches the U.S. Physics Team at yearly training camps. At Cambridge and Durham, he plans to study particle physics with a focus on its applications at the Large Hadron Collider.
