Jack Chellman, from Arlington, Virginia, will graduate from the University of Virginia as a Jefferson Scholar. Studying English and Political and Social Thought, his undergraduate thesis focuses on identity in James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake. Jack served as President of the Queer Student Union at UVA and President of the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society. In the UK, he will study media, power and public affairs at Royal Holloway, University of London and Political Thought and Intellectual History at the University of Cambridge.  After his studies, Jack intends to write long-form, literary journalism that addresses political divisions and partisanship.
