Yasa Baig grew up in Foxborough, MA and studies physics and computer science at Duke University. An Angier B. Duke and 2021 Goldwater Scholar, Baig is interested in theoretical biophysics and machine learning. His research has centered on bolstering nonlinear dynamics methods with artificial intelligence to develop insight into the emergent organization of multicellular systems such as microbiomes, tissues, and tumors. Outside the lab, he can be found reading science fiction or folding origami. As a Marshall Scholar, Baig plans to pursue an MPhil in Physics at Cambridge followed by an MRes in Systems and Synthetic Biology at Imperial College London.
