Samara Zuckerbrod, from Bellaire, Texas, is currently obtaining her BA degree in Sustainability Studies and a BA degree English with a certificate in Creative Writing at the University of Texas in Austin. Samara is the Director of the Campus Environmental Center (CEC) to help strengthen the UT Austin sustainability community and serves as the Vice Chair of UT’s Green Fund student committee. She was granted research funding for a project investigating the effectiveness of The Doughnut Model, a policymaking framework tool that prioritizes staying within ecological boundaries while providing societal needs equitably, travelling to Amsterdam to supplement her research. As a Marshall Scholar, Samara will pursue an MSc in Sustainability Planning and Environmental Policy at Cardiff University and then transition to the London School of Economics for an MSc degree in Environmental Economics and Climate Change.
