Lauren Jarvis, from Boerne, Texas, is studying Economics, Political Science, and International Studies at Baylor University. Lauren has previously interned at the US State Department, United Nations Information Center, Foundation for Defense of Democracies and Reconstruction Labs as well as a tutor at low-income ISD schools and a center for youth struggling with homelessness. She has won multiple national Model UN awards and has been named a Hamilton National Fellow by the Alexander Hamilton Society. She is currently researching and writing an honors thesis that identifies four waves of US humanitarian strategy since 1945 while working as a Human Rights Intern at the US Embassy in Zimbabwe. As a Marshall Scholar, Lauren will pursue an MSc degree in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies at the London School of Economics and Political Science and an MA degree at the University of Exeter.
