Abdelhamid, from North Arlington, New Jersey, is studying Public Policy at the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. Abdelhamid was nominated to serve as Princeton University’s Presidential Fellow in The Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress for the 2022-2023 academic year and is also one of 16 students awarded a summer 2021 Oscar S. Strauss II Fellowship in Criminal Justice from the Guggenheim Foundation to intern for a New York-based criminal justice non-profit. He has been selected to lead the executive board of the largest student-run organization at Princeton, the Student Volunteers Council Executive Board, which supports impactful service organizations and empowers student leaders of Princeton’s regular volunteering projects.

As a Marshall Scholar, Abdelhamid will apply for a place on the MA in Islamic Studies from the University of Birmingham and then a MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Oxford. After completion of these degrees, he plans to attend Harvard Law School for his Juris Doctrine.
