Andrew Lorenzen
Andrew Lorenzen is from Coral Gables, Florida and graduated from Cornell University in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Government and Performing and Media Arts, minoring in English. In the spring of 2024, he will graduate from NYU’s MFA Creative Writing Program, where he is studying Fiction. While at Cornell, Andrew was named a Merrill Presidential Scholar, Cornell Humanities Scholar, Cornell Institute of Politics and Global Affairs Undergraduate Scholar and member of Phi Beta Kappa. His original play “Old Man and Boy” was awarded the 2022 Heermans-McCalmon Award in Playwriting. He is teaching his first introductory prose and poetry course this semester at NYU to twelve undergraduate students. As a Marshall Scholar, Andrew will attend the London School of Economics and Political Science. In his second year, he will attend the University of Edinburgh enrolling in the Narrative Futures: Art, Data, Society course.
