Annie Li will graduate from Emory University with majors in history and sociology. Her honors thesis focuses on Chinese Americans from San Francisco Chinatown who participated in the civil rights movement from 1963 to 1968. Beyond the classroom, she leads Emory’s Christian thought journal as founding Editor-in-Chief, serves in her church’s family group ministry, and does advocacy work with Asian American students. Her creative work has been recognized by the Academy of American Poets, Atlanta Youth Poet Laureate Program, Coca-Cola, Imagining America, and more. As a Marshall Scholar, she will study theology and Christian ethics, with hopes of becoming a professor.
