Sydney Menne, from Shoreview, Minnesota, is currently a double major at the University of North Dakota studying Physics with an Emphasis in Astrophysics and Mathematics with a certificate in Spanish. Sydney has contributed valuable data analysis to the KATRIN Collaboration during her research to determine if the electron-gun was stable enough to be tested on the Main Spectrometer. She conducts research in particle and nuclear physics through the US MASTER program and provides research in additive manufacturing through the Advanced Manufacturing and Tribology Laboratory in the mechanical engineering department. Sydney is involved with the Advanced Rocketry Club, Honors Program Student Organization, and the Nordic Ski Club. She aspires to help develop more efficient aerospace propulsion systems, whether that be for rockets or aircrafts. Sydney is a first-generation college student and plans to attend the University of Southampton and the University of Bristol as a Marshall Scholar.
