Claire Evensen

Claire Evensen is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she studied biochemistry and applied mathematics. Her research on the mechanisms of prokaryotic transcription initiation led to a Goldwater Scholarship and an Astronaut Scholarship in 2019. She was president of her university’s chapter of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and was an active member of the clarinet studio and university Wind Ensemble. She is passionate about integrating the humanities into science and mathematics. As a Marshall Scholar, Claire will pursue an MSc in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing at the University of Oxford.
