Sofia earned a degree in Neuroscience and Behavior at the University of Notre Dame, with a supplemental major in Theology and a minor in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. In 2016, she received a fellowship to conduct work at Fundación San Rafael, in Asunción, Paraguay and in 2017, she received an Amgen Scholarship to work at the Lab for Integrative Neuroscience at the National Institutes of Health. As a Marshall Scholar, Sofia plans to pursue an MPhil in Basic and Translational Neuroscience followed by a PhD in Psychiatry at Cambridge.
