SOAS Marshall Scholarship

This Scholarship is for Graduate Study in any subject at either Masters or Doctoral level at SOAS and will be for up to two years (with a possibility of a third year for doctoral studies). If awarded a SOAS Marshall Scholarship candidates would be expected to study at SOAS.

SOAS programmes are taught by respected specialists engaged in fieldwork and research, which influences both government policy and the lives of individuals across the globe.  SOAS scholars debate pressing contemporary issues such as human rights, development, migration, identity, legal systems, poverty, religion, and social change, and engage in a wide range of global research projects, which are shaping the culture, economics and politics of societies all around the world.

SOAS aims to add and enhance to these attributes by offering courses of study, which give students the opportunity to look at their subject(s) from multiple perspectives; to challenge preconceived ideas through debate with fellow students and tutors; and to overturn unexamined assumptions.

International campus

The latest QS World University Rankings has listed SOAS as one of the most international universities in the world, with the proportion of international students around five times the global average.

SOAS currently has a student body of 5,000 of the brightest minds from over 130 countries on campus.

First in London for teaching

SOAS is top for teaching in London with a score of 90% (3% above the sector average) in the most recent National Student Survey, with 88% of students satisfied overall.

SOAS also ranks very highly for students rating its courses as intellectually stimulating (93%).

London is one of the most cosmopolitan and diverse cities in the world; it offers an unparalleled student experience.

SOAS is situated in the very heart of London, surrounded by fashionable cafés and restaurants, green spaces, bookstores, museums and arts venues.
