John Jumper US University: Vanderbilt University
John Jumper, an native of Little Rock, Arkansas, is a physics and mathematics major at Vanderbilt Unversity. A recipient of the Robert Harvey Scholarship and Goldwater Scholarship, he is currently researching the knotted glueball hypothesis in quantum chromodynamics. At Cambridge, he will pursue a PhD in theoretical condensed matter physics.
US University: United States Naval Academy
John Kennedy of Bon Air, Virginia, will graduate from the United States Naval Academy with a BS in American Politics and Law and a minor in Spanish. Upon graduation, he will be commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy as a member of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal community. John has interned with the Middle Eastern Branch of the Defense Intelligence Agency and recently graduated from the Navy Dive School in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. A four-year member of the men's varsity swim team, John has also served as the Brigade Physical Mission Officer, Company Commander, and Regimental Intramural Coordinator. At the University of Oxford, John plans to earn an MPhil in Social Anthropology, focusing on the role of anthropology in unconventional military operations.

Lisa Kitten of Plains, Kansas, recently earned a degree in mechanical engineering at Kansas State University. She was involved in numerous activities, including Engineering Student Council, Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering Student Advisory Council, Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center Choir, and more. She studied at Czech Technical University in 2005 and loves to travel. Lisa's research has included neutron and photon interrogation of a target to determine whether it contains an explosive and neutron activation analysis to measure wear from a prosthetic hip. She plans to study medical engineering at Oxford University, focusing on orthopedics.

Colin Koproske hails from Fenton, Missouri, and will graduate from the University of Southern California with degrees in Political Science and Music Performance. As a Trustee Scholar at USC, Colin's work has focused on the dynamics between religion, science, and politics and the theory and practice of secularism. Colin also co-founded and directs the BrainTrust Project, which is an organization devoted to involving academics in public policy. An accomplished jazz musician as well, he has performed with several groups around the Los Angeles area and with numerous jazz greats. At Oxford, Colin will pursue an MPhil in Political Theory.

Born in Guangzhou, Michael Li grew up in Portland, Oregon before attending Princeton. As a computer science major and mathematics minor with strong interests in physics and mathematical finance, Michael aims to pursue fundamental multidisciplinary research that is both rigorous and applicable. He has written papers on Webpage-Ranking Algorithms, Financial Risk-Measures, and software "compilers" for mathematical proofs and conducted research at institutions like NASA, PPPL, Bloomberg, Intel, and Google. While tutoring discrete mathematic, calculus, and co-chairing Princeton's Undergraduate Research Symposium, Michael is also very passionate about history, technology policy, and Bel Canto arias. He hopes to study Mathematics at Cambridge.

A proud native of beautiful Denver, Colorado, Jeff is a Biochemistry and Earth and Planetary Science major at Washington University in St. Louis. He has contributed to the Mars Exploration Rover mission and is involved in the search for a landing site for NASA's Phoenix Lander. Jeff is interested in the possibility of life beyond Earth and has conducted research on extreme life forms at hydrothermal vents around the world. Continuing the search for extraterrestrial life, Jeff plans to complete an MPhil in Earth Science and Engineering at Imperial College London while cheering avidly for the geographically appropriate football team.

Matt is an International and Strategic History Major from Lincoln, New Hampshire and currently serves as a Regimental Executive Officer at West Point. He has worked in the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy where he researched the nature and effectiveness of the current US force posture in the Middle East. Matt is a competitive alpine and cross-country skier and currently serves as the Training Coach of the Army Nordic Ski team. As a future Aviation Officer in the US Army, Matt hopes to pursue International Relations at the University of Cambridge and Security Studies at King's College London to prepare him for a career as a strategic analyst in the Department of Defense.

Myles Matteson grew up in New Hampshire on his family's farm. As a home schooler, he pursued a range of academic, athletic, and musical activities. He trained oxen and horses, was a Junior Olympic fencer, and recorded three CDs and performed on bagpipes around New England. Matteson has worked and interned with the Prosecutor General of Rwanda, the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, the U.S. Department of Justice, Street Kids of Rwanda, and Tillers International Animal Traction Organization. A 2005 Truman Scholar, he wrote an honors thesis on judicial reconstruction after genocide while at Wheaton College in Massachusetts.
