Lydia Nyachieo is a graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she majored in International Studies and Philosophy, with certificates in French and African Studies. As a recipient of UW-Madison’s Newman Family Scholarship for International Studies, her interests lie in issues of socio-economic inequality, the effects of global interdependencies, and equitable development. She has had the opportunity to intern for the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, as well as for the Associated Center for Agro-based Development, a Malawian organization that supports youth farmers. As a Marshall scholar, she will pursue an MSc in International Development at the University of Manchester.
