Jonathan Kuo is a Rhetoric and Molecular and Cell Biology double major at the University of California, Berkeley. At Berkeley, he conducted research on the history of vaccination, with a focus on exemptions to vaccine mandates. He also served as editor-in-chief of the Berkeley Scientific Journal and a writer for the Public Health Advocate. An aspiring physician-scholar, Jonathan seeks to interweave historical research with narrative medicine to write about how modern health practices, like vaccination, become controversial. As a Marshall Scholar, he will study the history of medicine at the University of Manchester.
